Busiest Week For Dividend Increases Ever

I have tracked dividend increases on this site for over a decade, almost every single week. I use a process to compile dividend increases for the week from multiple sources, and then narrow it down to the group of companies that have managed to increase dividends for at least ten years in a row.

I do this exercise as part of my monitoring process. It is helpful to see how companies I own or am interested in are performing. It is also a helpful process

Last week was the busiest week for dividend increases since I started doing this in 2008 - 2009. There were 83 dividend increases last week. This means that there were 83 companies announcing a dividend increase, which shows that these companies are optimistic about near-term business prospects and the economy.

This is also just a notch higher than the record number of dividend increases I saw just before Covid-19 hit the world and its economy.

I narrowed the list down to the companies that have managed to increase dividends for at least 10 years in a row. There were 34 companies that fit this characteristic. You can view the table with some information about each company, including track record of dividend increases, old and new dividend.

Another company that raised dividends was Diageo (DEO). It raised interim dividends by 5% to 29.36 pence/share. It is yet to be seen if the Final Dividend would be raised or not. Diageo has increased dividends annually since 1998.
