Very interesting. What do you think about a company that lowers estimates and simultaneously RAISES its dividend? Doesn't that strategy defy rational business sense?

I'm talking about ProLogis (PLD) but I know that AIG did the same thing earlier this year. In my opinion, it's a huge bluff and also a tell into business conditions. What's your take?

PFI,

I hope we don't get any more bank failures. Unfortunately however our regulators have done irrational things like banning short sales, which does nothing but to let greedy shareholders purchase financial shares at a premium.

BAC might as well be one of the survivors of this crisis. This does not mean that it's dividend is safe however..

Thanks for the list DGI - I won't go near any of those companies - since the lights were shined on the situation the only bank I ever contemplated going near was BAC - so far so good.

Great post! Everyone is talking about National City to be the next one to go under. I am living proof of not listening to the warning about WB. But as you noted, if you are diversified it should not matter as much.
