Carnivals, Festivals and Blogs

My blog has been mentioned three times on James Altucher’s Blog Watch at TheStreet.com over the past two weeks. He cited my analysis of CLX, FDO and MHP.

I also hosted the 82nd Festival of Stocks. Hosting a blog is a great way to gain exposure to a lot of fellow personal finance and investment bloggers out there. If you are interested in hosting, you could check the schedule and the hosting guidelines at the Festival of Stocks page.

In addition, my blog was included in the TOP 100 Personal Finance Blogs list managed by Fire Finance. It is listed as #54, which is pretty impressive in my opinion.

I found out several interesting articles on other blogs on the internet

The Money Gardener featured his analysis of CLX. Apparently we both share the same opinion on the stock.

The Dividend Guy presented his article enhancing my asset allocation. He believes that asset allocation is the key to successful long-term investing.

I enjoyed the analysis of AFL prepared by Dividends4Life.

Another good read was How to do a phone interview by Cash Money Life.

American Dividend Investor presented an article on Dividend Reinvestment Plans (DRIP).

Tyler from Dividend Money shared his ways of Choosing Dividend Growth Stocks. You could read about my way of screening for Dividend Growth Stocks here.

  1. Greetings DGI,

I appreciate your thoughts on CenturyTel. As you mentioned, CTL only has a compounded annual growth rate of 5% at best. Yield is something that I try to de-emphasis since so many companies get overlooked for this reason.

I love how you break down the impact of compounding from the initial investment to some point down the road.

While you cover the narrower and vaunted Dividend Aristocrats I track the Dividend Achievers for the purposes of breadth of investment. I look forward to more of you insights and commentary.
